Since 2020 KingstonCanCode has been helping develop a vibrant, inclusive tech talent pipeline in the Hudson Valley

Founded in 2016 AlbanyCanCode has been providing workforce training in software development for adults and k-12 classes for children in the Capital Region. Amid a global pandemic KingstonCanCode was launched in 2020 with the belief that the Hudson Valley shares many characteristics with the Capital Region, including tech businesses struggling to hire and residents who have aptitude but have yet to explore a career in technology.

 

Front-End Web Development

In this 12-week Front-End Web Development course, offered in partnership with SUNY Ulster, is structured around tutorials, assignments, and individual and group projects. This course may be of particular interest to graphic designers, as it teaches the technical skills necessary for UI (user interface) development and wire-framing. The course may also be attractive to beginning programmers with aspirations to create mobile applications, as it establishes foundations in JavaScript that support eventual progression into Full-Stack Web Development.  Students will establish solid foundations in key tools of front end developers: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, JavaScript/jQuery, and collaborative workplace/version control tool Github.

Offered 100% virtually, this course will met Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:45pm-8:45pm beginning June 15th, 2021. The cost of the course is $1,750 and tuition assistance is available to those who qualify. To ensure that all of our students have the means to complete our course, lender laptops are available.
